History: Paul was born into a family of rather powerful druids, which didn’t change much save the adding of runes and drawing circles onto his curriculum. At 9 years of age, Paul and his parents were kidnapped by enemies of his clan and taken to Stonehenge. At Stonehenge, Paul’s parents were sacrificed by his enemies to feed the runes on the ‘pain touch’ circle that his kidnappers had carved onto his right hand, then he was left there to his own devices. Before he made it back to his house, he couldn’t believe he had survived, despite what had happened, it was only when he could study the runes on the circle and worked out it’s purpose did he realise how much of a curse it was. From that day on, Paul wore gloves. Paul’s grandparents moved into the family’s house to acts as his guardian, and they too encouraged his further study into runes. For Paul’s 16th birthday, his grandfather took him again to Stonehenge and gave him the dubious present of the ‘luck’ circle, which, whilst being rather useful, also meant from that point on, Paul required blood transfusions every few months. The ‘luck’ circle came into play when he applied to university, and ended with Paul getting a ridiculously low offer to study medicine in London, which he proceeded to take. Paul now works at a blood donor clinic, stealing a few pints of blood as he needs them for his circles. Despite suspecting there are other powers out there, Paul didn’t know anyone with any until he joined the World Resolution community. Recently, he found, tortured and killed the daughter and last clan member of the group that killed his parents. Whilst he intended to rape her, he found there was something within his personality stopping him.

Powers explained: Anything 'drawn' is cut into
the material by the sacrificial knife. Two circles are drawn on a surface,
both of which can be any size, but they tend to be about 15cm apart for
ease. A rune, or a set of runes are then drawn between the two circles, the
inner circle being the limit of the area that the spell can affect. Unless a
rune, such as one which detects proximity, or gives a time until the event,
the spell will be cast instantly. Unless a rune specifies, the effect of the
spell will be focused on the centre of the circle. The circles need to be
roughly equidistant from each other all the way around. The runes inscribed
between the two circles give added effects to the spell. A spell will always
start in contact with the surface unless there are other circles scattered
around and a rune links them, in which case the spell can activate at
different points within an area bounded by a straight line drawn directly
between each circle, this can work in 3D. If a rune is placed on an
inanimate object, then each rune requires blood, the more potent a rune is
wished to be, the more blood is required, similarly, each rune has a
different base level of potency, and each rune increases in power at a
different rate. Some runes require a person to be killed on top of them. If
a rune is not given enough blood, or has not received the required amount of
sacrifices, it will not work. Once each rune in the circle has received
enough blood, all the runes and both circles disappear. If the circle is
triggered, then a spell, based on the runes is cast. If the circle is
triggered, but it, or other circles in the network are not finished, then
the circle will act with those runes that have been activated which can lead
to unpredictable results. A circle will vanish unless something is added to
it within 5 minutes (be it blood, a sacrifice, a rune, or the completion of
a circle), once vanished, it's treated as if it was finished, even if it was
not. A circle and spell will only work once unless a special rune is used.
If a rune is inscribed upon a living creature, all runes require activating
by blood or sacrifice as normal, however, the rune has potentially unlimited
uses, drawing blood from the creature to sustain it's power, more blood is
drained by some runes, it does not fade after it's been given it's been
completed. Runes created within Stonehenge can affect an area outside of
their base radius, but a specific rune is required, again, power increasing
with sacrifice, they can also affect 3D objects, such as a body or even all
of the world (though that would require a sacrifice of millions).

Relevant circles to the RP:
Stonehenge (1019 human sacrifices, Stonehenge): Allows for any circles drawn inside it to affect an area greater than that encapsulated by the circle, typically used for affecting a person's body.
Luck Circle (3 pints of blood, left hand): Has increased luck, and the runes
suck out blood at a constant rate, hence it is always activated.
Pain Touch Circle (2 human sacrfifices, right hand): Anyone he touches feels intense pain
as long as they are in contact with his skin, very strong.
Dead Circle (10 pints of blood, back): When he is about to die, all
remaining blood is drained from his body and the circles creates a massive
explosion around his body (based on the blood remaining within his body).
Language Circle (A human sacrifice, right hip): Using the final member of the clan which had cursed him, Paul created this circle, which allows him to understand any language (though it drains his blood at a constant rate whilst he is speaking/reading/writing/hearing the language).
Scratching circle (300ml of blood, Paul's sacrificial knife): The knife will only make a
scratch in whatever surface it's on, regardless of it's penetration into the
material. This doesn't affect human flesh.
Traps (Total: 20 human sacrifices and 597 pints of blood, Paul's house): Paul's house is an intricate web of traps that he's built over ther years.

Paul Greaves is fictional and is part of the World Resolution RP, he is played by The Faction's Lord
